Flag Fashion Statement

American flag printed stuff has been in fashion for quite some time now

Even Union Jacks are quite ubiquitous, too

But Miley is sure making a statement in a Philippine flag printed one.

Where can I buy her shirt? Izzocool.

Random: Celebs in green

So technically, the flag print of choice for them according to these pics is...erm...Libya. :-?

Gaddafi is happy.

This irrelevant fashion post is brought to you by Gill. :)

The Best, The Safe and The Bad at the MET Gala(Late Post. Gah)

I've been waiting to do a best dressed-worst dressed churva for a long time. And what better timing since it was the Oscars of fashion the other day--THE MET GALA! :D

My best dressed(I know. Dami kong gusto):

The Long Sleeved ladies

Ginnifer Goodwin in custom Topshop Unique. Gwyneth Paltrow in Stella Mccartney. Diane Kruger in Jason Wu.

Diane looked really breathtaking. The dress, the makeup, the hair, the shoes--heck, even the pose! IT WAS PERFECTION. Ginnifer had the coolest dress, necklace and eye makeup! Gwyneth was simply understated yet elegant. You think ba I should've added her on my safe list? The comment box is just below if you want me to know :)

Brooklyn Decker in Michael Kors. Sarah Jessica Parker in Alexander McQueen

These two were faves of mine, too. I so loved Brooklyn's dress. It's like this really girly fluoro dress. Very mod! And Sarah Jessica--girl, I love your style. I loved her silver Mcqueen gown. A bit matronly, though, paired with her hair and makeup.

The Unexpected

Christina Ricci in Zac Posen. Ashley Greene in Donna Karan

Christina Ricci would've landed in my worst dressed list but when I saw this pic of her, gosh, how beautiful her gown is! Dramatic enough for the MET! Ashley Greene is wearing a gown we all wish we could wear if we win prom queen. Haaay.

Shalom Harlow in Marchesa. Ashley Olsen in vintage Dior

I really loved Shalom's dress. I remember seeing this Marchesa on Style.com and thinking that this is my dream dress. Now, she's wearing it! And looks bangin'! I loved the whole look of Ashley's, too, even though she landed on everyone's Worst dressed. Seriouly, it looks so luxe and her Pigalles? Loooove

The Headturners

Leighton Meester in Louis Vuitton. Emma Roberts in Michael Kors. Alea Chung in Christopher Kane. Jessica Szohr in Topshop Unique and Hilary Rhoda in Alexander McQueen

I love Leighton. I like her dress. The footwear could do some changing, though, since it makes her legs look stubby. Emma Roberts was such a vision in black and white. The hair and makeup weren't bad, too! I'm quite disappointed by Alexa for not going all out but I really really love her dress. I love the minidress Jessica's wearing but maybe it could be a tad bit more dramatic if her hair and makeup were a bit more bold. Hilary's my fave. I have a soft spot for androgyny and this takes the cake. I love her clutch, too! :D

Natalia Vodianova in Valentino. Vera Wang in what else? Karen Elson in Alexander McQueen.

Natalia wore a Valentino dress from his 07 collection. I like that it's not just another black gown. Vera look adorbs here. I love her jeweled headband! And the color of her dress is like slime, but only better. hehe. Karen's also cool because this was the same dress she wore in McQueen's runway back in 04. Kainis. Hot pa rin.

Yung Masyadong Safe:

Mga Blaaah

Zoe Saldana in Calvin Klein. Dianna Agron in Michel Kors. Lea Michele in Escada. Isla Fisher in Tory Burch. Kerry Washington in Escada

Dianna's my fave of the safe lot since she looks so sleek and flawless but I still think every girl in this pic bought off their dresses in the gown section of SM(though SM's clothes are much better now. So maybe the SM gown section back in 2000). It's the MET Gala, ladies. Oras nyo mag-lukaloka! Kainez

THE WORST DRESSED(MY EFFIN EYES! GAAAAH!!!)

Emily Browning in Marc Jacobs. J.Lo in Gucci. Naomi Campbell in Alexander McQueen. Kirsten Dunst in Chanel.

I swear to god. The worst. While I love Emily's dress, I only liked it on Marc's runway and not on her since it just makes her looks short and probably the person who chose the accessories for her was a 5 year old(That clutch--horrendous). I hear Jennifer is moonlighting as a florist and the evidence was shown in this dress(Ooops). Naomi, I'm just being honest. Please don't throw a cellphone at me Uso ang Black Swan; ba't White Swan ka? Kirsten Dunst looks 60 here. Girl, even Betty White dresses better than you and she's almost 90.

Sarah Burton in her own design

I spotted someone wearing a mumu dress! And boy, she's the designer of the most famous wedding dress today. Ang sad

Chloƫ Sevigny wearing McQueen.

Awful. Dowdy and matronly. Awful. :P

People--regardless of what they're wearing good or not--I will still love:

Anna Dela Russo in Alexander McQueen

Anna is Anna. Pabigyan mo na. A stork layed an egg on her hat. Baka buntis sya

Elle and Dakota Fanning in Valentino

Sister act in acting and fashion. LOVE THEM

Zac Posen

Kainis ang damit ni Christina Ricci. Di tuloy makita ang suit ni Zac. But anyhoo, I think he's the best dressed male of the night :D Although, the next guy will give him a run for his money...

Karl Lagerfeld

Karl who? Duh. Karl LAGERFELD. You know you know him kaya don't let thahttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gift infamous bag fool you. He's so fabulous. Age doesn't seem to wear him down

Anna Wintour in Chanel

The devil in Chanel! She wore Chanel couture last year, too(And I like the outfit last year better. Parang she's the boss talaga)

Coco Rocha in Chanel

Coco Rocha. Period.

Your Outfit Looks Awfully Familiar: Pippa Middleton

The best Maid of Honor dress EVERRRR

I really loved her dress and the fact that she took a risk by wearing white. One thing that I still scratch my head on is how familiar it looked. It's like I have seen it before.

I just read something on Chuvaness and it helped my irritated scalp a lot.

Cameron wore this Alexander McQueen creation at the Golden Globes last year and Pippa's Sarah Burton dress looks like a dead-ringer for it. I am not surprised if it was Sarah who also designed Cameron's dress since Sarah was McQueen's long term assistant and is Head of Women's Wear. (I am aware that McQueen was still alive during Cameron's reign in red at the GG's last year)

Your Outfit Looks Awfully Familiar....(Royal Wedding Edition

Kate Middleton

(Kate's wedding dress closely resembling that of Grace Kelly's)

Prince William

(Princess William's attire looking a whole lot like Cheryl Cole's number in her video "Fight For Love")

Prince Harry

(Prince Harry's outfit is reminiscent of his father Prince Charles on his wedding to Princess Di)

Queen Elizabeth II

(This picture says a lot)

Princess Eugenie

(Her hat a tiny bit similar to our beloved organ)

Something else looked pretty familiar, too

(Kate Middleton and Grace Kelly's wedding bouquet look awfully the same. In this angle they don't but in another angle they really do! SOBRA)

The first two pics and the one of the Queen are from Tumblr. :)

Them Royals Got Hitched Already :D

Guess who got married? :D

Don't they look like the cutest royal couple evah? They're now officially known as The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Kate's other title is Princess William of Wales but it's not like we're going to call her that. Kate is one of the most stunning brides I have ever seen. Look at that Sarah Burton(From the House of Mcqueen. Who knew?) dress! Twas love at first sight for me.

I also looked out for her makeup since there were reports that she was going to do her own face that day. She looked so far from a caked-on bride that had too much rouge. :D Beautiful. And her tiara--a Cartier one that was a gift to the Queen on her 18th birthday--was marvelous. AND SPARKLY!

Now that William is out of the market, everyone seems to be falling in love with Prince Harry now. It's funny that everyone is suddenly liking him more now. Before, if I'd say I like Harry(which I did, actually), they'd tell me Prince William had more looks. At least Harry has more hair diba? (Though I did notice a bald spot on the back of his head. Don't lose hair Harry plez). And who would forget the Nazi Costume? Yeah, but too bad I still liked him. Hehe

Harry with Kate's sis Pippa. I loooved her dress, too
And did anyone notice this little bridesmaid? Her name is Grace Van Cutsem. I feel bad for her;she's, like, the butt of jokes on Tumblr now since she's known as that frowning girl little girl in th wedding.(God, the names people are giving her. Why can't you guys STFU? She's 3 and she's overwhelmed by the crowds, okay?)

I have to make an admission about something: I hate weddings. But this one is one of those rare weddings that I wish I could attend. Besides the obvious( READ: THE WEDDING OF THE CENTURY) but it's a daytime English wedding. I've always wanted to attend one since I like to wear a weird hat for once without people telling mme that it's not Halloween. Paki nyo sa style ko. Look at Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie's hats. Honestly, the latter one's hat is the most ridiculous, but then, it's a British wedding. I lav et. :D (I also lovd her makeup! Gaaah!)

Not only do I want to attend the ceremony, I want to attend the evening celebration at the Buckingham Palace! Reports say the Queen won't be at the Buckingham Palace during the party, which is fitting because I heard it was outta control. Plus, another dress I fell in love with. I love the cardi! :D

I think Princess Diana will be proud of William on his wedding day. There are reports that there was an empty seat during the ceremony reserved for Diana. I bet her spirit was there so it isn't technically empty.

WHILE I JOIN THE WORLD IN CELEBRATING THE ROYAL WEDDING, I'M ALSO CELEBRATING THE AUTOSAVE...

Funny story: While I was finishing this, suddenly there was a short brownout. Like something that was even less than 30 seconds. I was crushed because I was almost done with everything then something like that came up. Once the electricity came back, I turned on the computer and opened a new window. Thing is, it took ETERNITY for a window to open. Once it did, I went straight to Blogger. It also took me forever to log in since I typed my email wrong(oops)and the browser wasn't responding(ARGHHHH!!!!). After that long wait, I had to see if everything I typed for this entry was autosaved(because I don't trust my autosave. It acts like shit sometimes rather than an autosave)AND IT WAS! I prayed that God would not only save the Queen but this entry as well. He really did. GOD BLESS MY AUTOSAVE. :D :D :D

I Need These Shoes AS IN NOW NA

It's been quite some time since I've done a fashion related post. haha. :)

I have lusted so many designer shoes as the seasons go by but one of the only ones that I still love even if every season designers showcase lavish footwear will always be these Christian Louboutin Pigalle 120 Black Patent Pump

5 inch heel and absolutely no platform, these are sex kitten shoes. As painful as they look to walk in(and by the looks of it, it is), I will purchase these shoes someday if I could afford dropping $500+ dollars just for a painful pair of stilettos. Sure, there are other Pigalle colors and styles(there's even a style--Pigalle Plato--that has a 0.5 platform in it), but never have I been so obsessed with a plain black pair. It's too perfect, I tell ya.

I love the YSL Tribtoo Pumps, too, but in some way, when worn, it just isn't as hot looking as the Pigalle 120.

I remember every time I see a celeb wearing the shoes of my dreams(either the Pigalles of the Tribtoos or any designer kicks I am in love with at the moment),I often would be so gigil and say I love that girl's shoes. But my Mom--being practical--thinks that it's ridiculous to own a 50,000 peso shoe in this country where people are starving and don't have homes. Maybe spending a million pesos on a bag IS ridiculous(YES, CROCODILE SKIN HERMES BIRKIN BAG--I'M REFERRING TO YOU!) but I don't mind having a closet full of designer shoes but of course, just as long I also help the people in need, too. Money is money no matter how small the amount is or big. I think the Pigalle 120 pumps--though pricey--would be a worthy investment to me in my opinion. An alligator skin bag just won't cut it....or is it crocodile? I quite forgot. :P

This Hermes Bag is worth a whopping 64,000 benjamins. Why, you ask? Besides the crocodile's largest organ used in the bag, the bag's clasp has 10 carat diamonds.

Blake for Chanel, Leighton for Missoni: What do Ya think?

I think na, rather, baliktad. :P They've announced this before and even launched the ads a while back. BUT I STILL THINK BALIKTAD PA RIN!!!!

I think Leighton should have done Chanel while Blake is more Missoni. Seriously, am I the only one who thinks this? But I think Blake seems to fit modelling for American designers more than European ones(yes, that even inlcludes Missoni). I could seriously see her face on Michael Kors ads.

Leighton is classically beautiful which I think is perfect for Chanel because judging by their older ads, they usually pick women with timeless good looks and I think Blake is the opposite of that. Leighton even looks the part of a stylish Parisian: dark brown hair, slim physique and khol usually rimming her fabulous brown eyes. She's 5'5, too which is actually the typical height of most French women. I could only imagine Leighton wearing red lipstick and a black gown modelling for Chanel. Missoni just doesn't do it for her although I find this ad cute.

Blake, on the other hand, looks like a surfer chick forced to model for these bags whose price tags are equivalent to 5 surf boards. Don't get me wrong; I love Blake Lively but I think her scoring a gig all comes down to the fact that she has luck ala Serena Van Der Woodsen and her BFF is Anna Wintour. But being blonde and 5 foot 10 also has its advantages: it was reported that Karl Lagerfeld really liked Blake cause "She's a kind of American dream girl," a source closed. Gorgeous blonde hair? Check. Enviable long legs? Check. Girl next door looks and persona? Check. Maybe dear Karl knows what he's talking about when he means "American Dream Girl" but I still detest her starring in the ads

Apparently, even the Chanel USA office seems to think she's the wrong choice, too. But you know, if your opinion is up against Lagerfeld's, then punk, you'll lose. You just will. And that loss will be more painful than having your ribs broken on WWE. Maybe not but you know what I mean

Maybe I'm just judging Blake and Leighton by their characters on Gossip Girl. In real life, Blake seems to be more fashion forward while Leighton is the kind of person who doesn't really care about trends but is still fab, nonetheless. So in my mind, Blair Waldorf(Leighton's character) is the perfect choice for Chanel and Serena Van Der Woodsen(portrayed by Blake) will be a showstopper in Missoni. O diba? ;)

It's the Oscars, Baby. :bd

Ahhhh, the Academy Awards 2011. Much has changed since the first one in 1929 but still some stuff have remained the same: guys wearing tuxedos; girls in gowns so nice it makes me feel alive but so expensive I die and a red carpet long enough to cover EDSA than my house. Anyway, this year was definitely different from the ones before because the hosts are James Franco and Anne Hathaway who are a breather from the usual comedian or award-winning actor who has slow comedic timing from hosts the AMPAS(Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences) chooses most of the time.

Seeing the two during the beginning of the show was breathtaking. Two really beautiful people together hosting the Academy Awards? Haaaay. I LOLed at James' grandmother, whom when she was called out from the audience by Franco she said "I saw Marky Mark." Hehehe. The opening montage of the two was funny. Anne Hathaway's brown duck dance to the Black Swan herself Natalie Portman was that LOL moment that still made me go "Uhm...huh?"

One of the categories presented first in the show was the Best Supporting category presented by Kirk Douglas whom I must say was hilarious regardless of his aged speech. I hope he could represent again next year and poke fun at Colin Firth(who won Best Actor later on the show, FYI) for being British. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I couldn't find a pic of him that night so instead I put up a pic na lang of him when he was younger and papable-er. :)

Another thing that kept me up(even if the live telecast of the Oscars is at around lunchtime here in the PI) was Anne Hathaway's numerous wardrobe change. I demand to know who was her stylist(100% sure it's Rachel Zoe who should've been on maternity leave) because she looked HOT in every gown(and a tux) she sported.

The Best Picture category was won by The King's Speech. Everyone probably thought it would've been The Social Network and I wished it was Toy Story 3, but we're speaking about the AMPAS and they sometimes come out with the unexpected although this time I'm quite happy with their choice.

Sadly, this entry about the Oscars is kinda short because damn ABS-CBN cut off the telecast right after the Best Picture category to make way for that Wahoo, Wohoo Whatever show(don't care what the real name is)they usually show at noon. Well, Studio 23 will replay the Academy Awards tonight and I don't mind sitting though a great awards show again. :)
