I am not the hugest fan of The Hunger Games(but I technically am), but boy, am I obsessed with whom they're gonna cast for the film adaptation!
Katniss Everdeen
Katniss Everdeen is the only character so far with a confirmed actress to play the part: Jennifer Lawrence. Seriously? She's a great actress and all(LOOK AT THAT OSCAR NOMINATION! AT ONLY 20!), but it's just that she's, uhm, 20!!!! Katniss is 16. Can't they cast a teen actress? We all know the power of Hollywood acting and makeup(Bette Davis played a role of an 18 year old once for a movie even though she was really 30 then! But she's an exception for me because Bette was known for her youthful looks and convincing acting which seem to deceive many). Almost everyone wanted Kaya Scodelario(who's hot and looks more like Katniss and hello, 18 years old po sya!). But let see how the film goes with Jennifer. I read an article in IMDB not too long ago about how the writer has expressed dislike for Lawrence top play Katniss but at the same time, is happy and thrilled to see what Lawrence would do. "I think they made the right call choosing an actress who could portray Katniss' spirit to a T, rather than someone who plays it ok and looks the part," she wrote. I agree, but the ''look'' still matters for me but let's just see what will happen. I could see a little Katniss in Jennifer though I'm quite iffy about the casting directors' picking her but I could care less about that because I care more about......
PEETA MELLARK
ajhwfdkeahdiehirfekljhfkjfkldsjfksdjfklsjdfsjahkhwueiwhdiwfhcskdjsj
Okay. That was crazy. XDD BUT ANYWAYSSS, Peeta. THE Peeta. Peeta Peeta Peeta. The said shortlist for Peeta's role consist of Hunter Parrish(whom THG fans seem to want), Josh Hutcherson(whom THG fans seem to want BEFORE Jennifer Lawrence was even cast), Lucas Till, Evan Peters(Don't fucking know him) and Alexander Ludwig. I'm glad Alex Pettyfer and Chord Overstreet isn't a part of it but anyway(But Chord seems to have the love from THG fans, unlike Pettyfer), TEAM LUDWIG ALL THE WAY. Maybe I'm biased(my best friend thinks so, too)because I've been a longtime fan of his even though he doesn't have a huge body of work under his belt unlike the others(except Evan Peters because I don't effing know him) but he's perfect! He just is! For the role, at least ;)
Blonde hair, blue eyes, stocky build. And he's 6 feet tall(according to IMDB) which makes sense because Jennifer Lawrence is a stunner herself (5'7). He's a really great actor, too and not all THG fans see that because of his short credentials(seriously? Watch The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising. I fell in love with his performance there). But whether you have the most credits in terms of work or not, getting the role of Peeta is definitely gonna make the actor who plays it very famous and it's about time for Alexander Ludwig.
Hunter Parrish, on the other hand, is the frontrunner so far. I am afraid that since they accepted an older actress for Katniss, they just might cast 23 year old Parrish as well
GALE HAWTHORNE
Seriously, I dunno who I want for Gale. Been concentrating on who'll they'll cast for Peeta. XDD And it doesn't seem to get as much buzz as casting for Peeta so yeah whatever. :P But I'm excited to see who they'll pick, though since I like dark haired guys. Hahaha. TMI. XDD
My best friend asked me how come age seems to be a factor to me when they cast for whoever character in The Hunger Games film. Truth be told, the fact that it will still remain true to the book(which was targeted to teens, BTW) when they cast actors who are ACTUALLY teenagers(because the characters are teenagers. Duh). If you have watched book to movie stuff, almost always the script of the movie is way different than the book in terms of its characters and events. I mean, if you have watched The Seeker: The Dark is Rising, Will Stanton was 14 when actually in the book he is only 11 or in the film adaption of Flipped they chose a blonde green eyed actor to portray Bryce(Callan McAuliffe. I STILL LOVE YOU, THOUGH) when it perfectly stated in the pages of my fave book that Bryce had black hair and blue eyes and the setting of the plot was during the present and NOT in the 50's. I am just afraid that the script writers will change the THG's story line just in favor for the actors that were cast(which always happens) when it should just be true to the book's plot. Just sayin' :)

Blake for Chanel, Leighton for Missoni: What do Ya think?
I think na, rather, baliktad. :P They've announced this before and even launched the ads a while back. BUT I STILL THINK BALIKTAD PA RIN!!!!
I think Leighton should have done Chanel while Blake is more Missoni. Seriously, am I the only one who thinks this? But I think Blake seems to fit modelling for American designers more than European ones(yes, that even inlcludes Missoni). I could seriously see her face on Michael Kors ads.
Leighton is classically beautiful which I think is perfect for Chanel because judging by their older ads, they usually pick women with timeless good looks and I think Blake is the opposite of that. Leighton even looks the part of a stylish Parisian: dark brown hair, slim physique and khol usually rimming her fabulous brown eyes. She's 5'5, too which is actually the typical height of most French women. I could only imagine Leighton wearing red lipstick and a black gown modelling for Chanel. Missoni just doesn't do it for her although I find this ad cute.
Blake, on the other hand, looks like a surfer chick forced to model for these bags whose price tags are equivalent to 5 surf boards. Don't get me wrong; I love Blake Lively but I think her scoring a gig all comes down to the fact that she has luck ala Serena Van Der Woodsen and her BFF is Anna Wintour. But being blonde and 5 foot 10 also has its advantages: it was reported that Karl Lagerfeld really liked Blake cause "She's a kind of American dream girl," a source closed. Gorgeous blonde hair? Check. Enviable long legs? Check. Girl next door looks and persona? Check. Maybe dear Karl knows what he's talking about when he means "American Dream Girl" but I still detest her starring in the ads
Apparently, even the Chanel USA office seems to think she's the wrong choice, too. But you know, if your opinion is up against Lagerfeld's, then punk, you'll lose. You just will. And that loss will be more painful than having your ribs broken on WWE. Maybe not but you know what I mean
Maybe I'm just judging Blake and Leighton by their characters on Gossip Girl. In real life, Blake seems to be more fashion forward while Leighton is the kind of person who doesn't really care about trends but is still fab, nonetheless. So in my mind, Blair Waldorf(Leighton's character) is the perfect choice for Chanel and Serena Van Der Woodsen(portrayed by Blake) will be a showstopper in Missoni. O diba? ;)

PROUD TUMBLARIAN
I loooooove Tumblr. This wasn't the case last year when I first had my account. I didn't know why people had Tumblr accounts and what its purpose really was. I didn't even know why I HAD an account. XDD.So it was just there, not being used by me.
The last month, I just got into it. I dunno why and dunno how, but I just did. And my posts grew rapidly each day. AND MONTH! I only had 6 posts when I first started in September, Nada during October and November, 26 in January, 79 in February and 256(gasps!)this March AND COUNTING. 256 seems meager, but I haven't posted or reblogged anything on Tumblr for th past 2 days because I need to curb my addiction so imagine how it would be now if that didn't happen.
I post/reblog stuff that catches my fancy like clothes, shoes, accessories(especially RINGS! Ang lola mo ay adik sa singsing), cute animals, quotes, hot guys(:X),desserts and random funny pics. It's amazing.
I used to be so into Facebook before and barely do anything with my Tumblr. Let's just say it's vice-versa now. I love the feeling when you're on Tumblr. No struggling a zillion people trying to chat with you, no person(or persons) telling you to like their DPs(that, sometimes, even sucks), no people whose existence isn't even real and is just made up by someone you know(yup. I've had a few 'imaginary' friends on Facebook). I LOVE TUMBLRRRRRRRR
DOWNSIDE:
The Tumbeasts. Yeahp. They suck. :P

Hope to see you guys there. :)

DATE ME
I was watching The Talk(please. Don't ask why) a while ago when a light bulb above my big head glowed and meant I had this brilliant idea to write about on my blog.
Okay, okay. Maybe I didn't think of it. I was watching The Talk and they were talking about a study that most people would date people who are like themselves sparking the question: WOULD YOU DATE YOUR SELF??? I, of course, thought I should write about this and ask you dear reader that question:
WOULD YOU DATE YOURSELF?
To be wholly honest, I am 50/50 here. Sure, I think I'm a great looking person with a cool attitude(echos. hahahahaha)but I don't even think I would get along with me. Ironically, I get along with people who are the polar opposite of me than the ones who are just like me. I remember being friends with this girl a few years ago and she and I are alike in most senses(Except looks. No kidding. ha):she was talkative, headstrong and stubborn. You'd expect that the both of us would be really really good friends. Truth be told, she was one of the rare people I've had a huge, ugly and public spat with. God bless her soul and mine, it was pretty damn ugly when we fought. But all's good now because we both got older and our attitudes changed.
One thing about me that I like is that I'm not shallow. Talk to me and I'm deeper than the Mariana Trenches. I like that I'm smart, too and usually, I get long with intellectually smart people. My best friend is Einstein smart and I have other good friends who are on top academically.
I expect people to have different answers to the question I asked earlier. Some would say yes, others would say no and then the remaining percent will be wondering about something else then ask to repeat the question I asked earlier. :))
It's understandable why people would date people like who are like themselves. Sure, it's cool that someone you date is so much like you but isn't it nice to try something unpredictable for yourself? It's a risk, but there's supposed to be a Yin and Yang in a relationship, as Julie Chen(one of The Talk's hosts) puts it and I agree. It's one thing to have some stuff in common with the person you are in a relationship with but it's totally another if he is EXACTLY--IN ALL ASPECTS--LIKE YOU. :)

PANCAKE DAAAAAAAAYYY!!!!!!!!!!!
PANCAKES!!!
(Blueberry) PANCAKES!!!
PANCAKES!!!
WAFFLES!!! (Puede na yan noh)
THE HISTORY OF PANCAKE DAY:
Pancake Day is also called Shrove Tuesday. Shrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday which marks the beginning of Mahal na Araw(Lent). Pancakes are traditionally eaten during Shrove Tuesday to finish up the eggs and fat which are foods we usually do not eat during the Lenten Season because of the tradition of Fasting.
Hehehe. I'm in love with pancakes. I even like eating the batter as a kid and until now.
Happy Lent Everyone! (Parang that didn't sound right. :|:|:|:|:|)

Don McLean Live in Manila
Rumor has it that Don McLean died. :|
Nearly 40 years later, guess who's coming to Manila and definitely put this rumor to rest?
It's funny that at the height of his fame back in the 70's that rumor came up. I should know because I have these really old Jingle song books/music magazines and it was reported there. Seems like every famous person went through that kind of rumor. Although that rumor was false, he was gone from the music industry long enough for everyone to wonder "What happened to him?" Even my mom(who's a huge fan of his music even way back then) is unsure if he is still alive or not.
But he's alive(YES!!! \m/) and kickin' and he's going to perform live at the Araneta Center at 8 PM.
I grew up listening to old music and his works were no exception. I even had the lyrics of American Pie in my old songbooks and attempt to memorize it all the time!(Sadly, I couldn't. hahaha) And my favorite song of his would be "Birthday Song" because even when I was younger, I wished that someone would sing that on my birthday(ECHOS! AMBONGGA NAMAN! LOLOLOLOLOL). But I love singing to his songs. I LAAAAB DA WAY YOU LAB MEEEEEHHHH....;-D
True Fact that You Already Know but I Will Still Say Anyway: This guy looooves Buddy Holly(McLean's American Pie album is dedicated to him) and the song American Pie was inspired by him and his death(along with Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper ). Also, there's an interpretation behind the song's lyrics so check the song's Wiki to find out.
"A Starry, Starry Night with Don McLean" is produced by Ovation Productions.
Note: I wasn't paid to advertise this and wish I was. XDD. I only wrote this entry because as a longtime fan I think it's great to write something about him
